Infrared Thermal Imaging is a valuable tool that helps us observe thermal deficiencies and moisture related issues that may not be visible to the naked eye.
A Thermal Imaging camera detects the amount of radiant energy emitted from a surface, and provides an infrared image that is outside of our visual spectrum. From this we can observe thermal patterns which provide indications of moisture, voids in insulation, air leakage, and other conditions that may be present at concealed, or inaccessible areas.
We primarily use Infrared Thermal Imaging to provide an indication of:
- Moisture infiltration
- Voids in insulation
- Cold air infiltration
- Heating system deficiencies
- Plumbing system leakage
We complete a thermal imaging scan as part of every home inspection to help identify thermal deficiencies and moisture related issues.
This service is also offered as an independent thermal imaging inspection for clients who wish to increase the energy efficiency of their home.
Please see the following examples of thermal imaging observations below:
Insulation Not Present at an Exterior Wall
Roof Leak at Concealed Area Concealed Plumbing Leak
